About Us
This site is sponsored by the International Imaging
Technology Council (Int’l ITC), the trade association
for the remanufactured printer cartridge industry. Our
mission is to educate you, the consumer, about our industry
so that you can make informed choices when purchasing
your printer and supplies.
Many consumers are unaware of the cost benefits, superior
quality and environmental advantages of remanufactured
products. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) have
devised marketing schemes to keep you misinformed about
the remanufactured industry to prevent you from using
the supplies of your choice. For example, some OEMs,
such as Lexmark, have placed "killer chips"
in their cartridges to shut down the machine if a remanufactured
toner cartridge is installed, leading consumers to believe
that it is the cartridge that failed.

In the United States alone, our industry represents
approximately 3,500 remanufacturing companies, which
employ at least 33,000 people. Each year roughly 37,771
tons of waste is kept out of landfills due to the remanufacturing
of toner cartridges.
In addition to saving customers money, remanufacuring
creates jobs, reduces waste, and, according to the EPA,
is the highest form of recycling as it requires the
least amount of energy to make a product ready for reuse.
